Immerse: A Swimmer’s Perspective

ANJA FISCHBACH

A life-long passion for wild swimming and the transformative power of the cold water plunge is the inspiration for Anja’s current work.

This experimental exhibition of watercolour paintings and drawings reflects her relationship with wild water and a sense of place in the natural world as she continues to explore the coast and rivers of North Devon and Exmoor in search of alluring places to take a dip.

What emerges is yet to be revealed!more

The canvas is a body where miniature figures from the imagination of sleep step forward and reach for the sun and stars of realisation. Moons and dreams light the way. Layers bring clarity where new forms can be found.”

Andrea McLean studied painting at Falmouth Art School and the Slade School of Art followed by a scholarship year at The British School at Rome. She has worked as Artist in... more

BENEDICT RUBBRA

“This exhibition, celebrating my eightieth birthday, can be seen as an extension of the 2015 retrospective at RAMM in Exeter. The work again focuses on my technique of constructing thee dimensional forms that become the point of departure for each painting.  The structures also become the space in which I can develop ideas.
