Laura Porter has been selected for the Arts Council funded commission that explores the arrival of the Huguenots in North Devon - and their legacy. Graduating from Middlesex University in 2014 Laura has had several solo exhibitions, and has been nominated for the Collyer Bristol Graduate Award and Broomhill National Sculpture Prize. Laura’s practice uses reclaimed and recycled clothing and fabric, that once had an intimate relationship with the body, to create new forms and functions. Absence, responsibility, self awareness and human interaction are recurring themes in her large-scale, site-specific sculptural and installation work. https://www.lauraporterart.com
