The Plough has a Council of Management comprising trustees who are democratically elected from Plough Supporters. Their participation is entirely voluntary. Each Council Member must either stand down after a period of three years or face re-election from the Supportership. Roles on the Council such as Chairman or Treasurer cannot be held continuously for more than six years. This entirely democratic structure is an unusual way for an arts charity to be governed but it has worked extremely effectively for The Plough since it was introduced in 2002. Via monthly meetings and further active involvement the Council of Management oversee all aspects of The Plough’s activities.
