Ricky Knight at ThePlough@StAnne's
With special guest: Julie-Alanah Brighten
Ricky has hidden behind some of North Devon’s finest musicians for over sixty years and has managed to nearly master a vast and varied repertoire. This performance will be a bit of a ‘premiere’ for ‘Ricky’s Juke Box’ concept, whereby you, yes, you the audience, will be able to choose which songs you’d like him to play for you. Please bear in mind that there are over 200 millions songs out there so don’t be too critical of what’s on offer on the night….. and as an added bonus, there will be a special surprise guest appearance - watch this space.
Ricky’s special guest for the performance at St Anne’s on April 12th is indeed very special: Julie-Alanah Brighten. She started singing professionally at the age of thirteen and over the past thirty years her career has covered many aspects of the entertainment industry. As an actor, Julie has starred in many West End productions, including the role of ‘Belle’ in the original London production of Disney's ‘Beauty and the Beast’. She has sung alongside Sam Brown, Clare Teal, Jamie Cullum and The Foundations at the ‘Cafe de Paris’ in Piccadilly.
Julie now teaches at the British Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) in Brighton on both their music and performing arts degree programmes. Ricky may be biased but he reckons Julie will be the perfect antidote to an evening which otherwise would only have featured himself.
