The Plough welcomes an exciting new exhibiton of Sculptural works in October 2025!
DIALOGUES, an exhibition by members of CAMP's Sculpture and 3D Kin Group, opens on Wednesday 1st Oct and runs until Saturday 1st Nov 2025 at The Plough Arts Centre Gallery in Great Torrington, North Devon.
Private View: Sat 04 Oct 2025, 5:00pm - 7.00pm. An opportunity to meet the artists in person. All Welcome.
This exhibition brings together a group of artists who only recently connected through CAMP's Sculpture and 3D kin network, yet all have a longstanding engagement with sculptural materials and processes, space and /or site. The title Dialogues refers to the exchanges that occur, and common themes that emerge, as we get to know each other and our respective practices, as well as the ways different materials converse within each of our artworks, and finally to the conversations that the work in the show prompts with an audience.
The Plough is delighted to be platforming an engaging showcase of Contemporary Sculpture. The show features an array of materials and forms, and includes suspended pieces, as well as floor-standing pieces. Curator and Visual Arts programmer Grace Rodgers chose to programme an exhibiton dedicated to Sculpture because it is an under-represented art form in galleries, including North Devon, and when she was appraoched by the community members of the Contemporary Art Membership Platform (CAMP), she was keen to facilitate space for them in The Plough's programme. CAMP is a member-lead network supported by Arts Council England for artists and creatives in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
"The works on display in Dialogues form an engaging collection, with a broad variety of materials and concepts represented. I hope the show will be inspiring to those interested in the possibilities for Sculpture as an art form in 2025 and beyond. The Plough hopes that visitors will be inspired, and surprised by the more curious works, and in turn develop a wider appreciation for the possibilities within this evolving art form." - Curator, Grace Rodgers
