PACE - 2 hr workshop Supporting Invisible Illness and your Nervous System.

My intention is to help anyone struggling with chronic illness, be that Long-covid syndrome, CFS/ ME including their families and friends. As someone who knows what it is to struggle with chronic illness and trauma, my hope is that you feel better after coming across this Wksp.

Please ensure to check in with your own mental health team regularly. Information is exactly that, shared information and is not to replace seeking out professional help on a one to one basis.

In March 2020 I contracted the Covid 19 virus and ever since then I've been navigating my way in life with ongoing issues now presenting themselves as #longcovid syndrome.

As an Integrated Therapist I had the tools to help myself through the difficult times but it wasn't easy and I still have to take what each day brings me with acceptance and patience. Energy really is everything to me and I PACE myself wisely. So my project here is to share, teach and give what I can at this moment in time as I continue my own recovery chapter in life.

You will have the opportunity to focus on how to support your immune system through guided hypnotherapy in the first part of this 2 hr Wksp (this will be available for you to take home with you via audio links given during the Wksp) Self hypnosis and EFT have helped me enormously when it comes to acceptance around the way I now live my life.

I use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) on a regular basis to help navigate through chronic illness and life between relapses. So I wanted to start to share some basics for anyone interested in picking up a very helpful tool to help with the sensitive sympathetic nervous system with any chronic illness and focusing on self soothing tools to eventually desensitise the overactive fight or flight response that seems to control you and your symptoms at any given hour. A tool to start to bring back balance in the systems in the body that requires more help and support from yourself on a daily basis at this time in your management of symptoms.

You will come away from this Wksp with Hypnotherapy guided nervous system audios, EFT handouts and some basic knowledge on nutritional guidance when dealing with chronic illness. Most importantly you get to talk about grieving the old version of you before being forced to change and navigate a new way of being for however long that may be. Connect with like minded people in a similar situation and gather helpful information in this supportive environment.

So let's look at removing the constant label of illness from your thoughts so that the illness does not become your identity. You are not just the illness!

Through great trial and errors I have settled into, ‘for now at least’, the 'monitoring stage' of what is going on in my body and what it needs.

When I’ve pushed too hard too soon I’ve had a relapse that lasts longer than needed or could have avoided all together.

For me currently, I avoid shying away from where I am presently and am no longer ashamed to discuss this thing that I have to structure into my day to ensure I can stay on an even keel, without additional assault in my everyday life coming into play.

I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you and hearing your stories at this workshop. Until then please do keep investing in yourself, slowing down and taking the time to find silence in each day.
