Freedom of Spirit: A collection of paintings and drawings by children of Palestine
This exhibition showcases 97 heartfelt artworks by children from Nablus and Hebron, highlighting both untutored creativity and guided expression. The children’s ages range from 5-15yrs and reflect the young experience of living life in a warzone. The show is presented in the format of a ‘School’s Exhibition’ of paintings, drawings and some work on canvas.
- Nablus collection:
- Created by children aged 5–15
- Untutored, imaginative, and emotionally expressive
- Reflects raw creativity and personal storytelling
- Hebron collection:
- Created by a tutored group with access to diverse materials
- Shows individuality despite structured guidance
The project allowed children to be in a safe place with their teachers, where they could express their hopes and dreams for the future. These are much the same as children everywhere. The exhibition conveys the innocence and dreams of childhood, and the universality in this.
