Born in the middle of a Skinny Lister shanty-punk folk moshpit back in 2016, Man The Lifeboats have been ploughing their own furrow ever since — bringing a riotous mix of folk, rock and punk to audiences everywhere.
Think Bellowhead meets Oysterband, with the spirit of The Levellers and those legendary folk-punk heroes, The Pogues. This is big-hearted, high-energy folk music that refuses to sit quietly in the corner.
Their second album, Soul Of Albion, reached #27 in the Official Folk Charts in 2022 and was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios. The result is gloriously hard to pin down: Led Zeppelin arm-wrestling Shane MacGowan in a Birmingham brewery; Jimbob and Fruitbat fronting Fairport Convention; The Albion Band turned up to 11, with their fiddles on fire.
Expect soaring melodies, raucous rhythms, infectious choruses and plenty of folk-punk spirit. A full-throttle live show that will have you singing, stomping and raising a glass.
