Ken Peel (Co-founder of Wells EMOM) explores the limits of memory and the tension between dreams and reality.

His 2025 album, small boat: adrift, was a featured album on Grey Clay Radio who described it as "richly electronic ... it is such an evocative image, drifting on water ... a masterful album that seems to have so much range within it while never betraying its innate simplicity."

JJ Jeczalik, member and founder of The Art of Noise said "each track draws the listener into a meditative, thought-provoking experience. It’s a sonic exploration that’s as introspective as it is immersive."

Flux-us
As Flux-us (Andrew Shackleton - co-founder of Breezeblock Beats in Frome and half of the electronic music duo Gnostic Rebellion) creates immersive audio/visual experiences which are intended to be transcendent.

Always working from the premise that “we come from the darkness into the light” he explores and utilises esoteric, occult and psychedelic themes with both visuals and sound.

He has been making music using a variety of tools, starting with Reason, Ableton Live, and now mainly using various analogue hardware synthesisers and instruments.

Terminal Optimism

Co-founder of Breeezeblock Beats in Frome's Stuart Chapman's Terminal Optimism moniker blends found sounds with home made instruments and effects pedals, tape loops, drones and dissonant ambience to create a tapestry of sonic neurodivergence that blends the DIY punk aesthetic with pioneering electronic experimentation.

Long time friend and supporter of Pattern Recognition, it is great to welcome Terminal Optimism back to North Devon.

MAF

When asked for an artist blurb, Breezeblock alumni MAF simply said "Repetitive noise on analogue synths."  We could just leave it there, but that in no way describes the incredibly absorbing, expansive, hypnotic soundscapes and drones that MAF is able to command with such precision.

It is a delight to be able to showcase MAF at Pattern Recognition and we sincerely hope you will join us to welcome all of these stalwarts of the South West electronic music scene to North Devon for Pattern Recogniton's third birthday celebration at the un-usual venue of Barnstaple Guildhall
