Join expert Painter-Printmaker Luna North in The Plough Gallery during her exhibition, for this incredible opportunity to learn the Joy of Linocut!

The joy of Linocut : theme garden flowers, leaves and blooms

Discover the simple joy of linocut inspired by the beauty of the garden. In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, we’ll explore how flowers, blooms, and delicate seedheads can be transformed into bold, expressive prints.

You’ll be guided step-by-step through the linocut process, from sketching and transferring your design to carving and printing your own unique artwork. Working from garden-inspired imagery, we’ll focus on shape, texture, and mark-making - celebrating both detail and happy imperfections along the way.

Whether you’re completely new to linocut or looking to reconnect with your practice, you’ll leave with finished prints and a deeper appreciation for the quiet pleasures of printmaking. Luna is a professional printmaker who makes wonderful prints inspired by nature, see more of her work on www.lunanorth.co.uk

The 3 hour masterclass will run from 10.30am -1.30pm in the Plough's Wet Workshop. The cost is £38 plus a £7 fee for materials, payable on the day. Places are limited to 12 so book early to avoid missing out on this rare opportunity.

Once you have created your masterpiece, you will be free to browse Luna's solo exhibition in The Plough's newly refurbished gallery, with an even greater understanding of how she works and the processes behind the prints that feature in her show.

"I studied BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting at Falmouth College of Art (1982–1984), creating large-scale landscape paintings influenced by the Romantic traditions of the Cornish art scene. In 1987, I moved to Exmoor with my partner and children, where the moorlands, wildflowers, and ever-changing light became my lifelong inspiration.

In December 2020, I was thrilled to be featured as an Exmoor artist on Channel 4’s Devon and Cornwall TV program.

In 2022, I had the honor of exhibiting with the Royal Society of British Painters at the Mall Galleries in London—a milestone that continues to inspire and motivate my creative journey.

Each moment in nature seems to be an unfolding story to me - I love the way bees explore each tube of red clover flowers with careful hand and tongue - magic moments.

Through my paintings, linocuts, and greeting cards, I hope to bring the peace, beauty, and magic of nature into your life, one piece at a time.” - Luna North.

Find out more about Luna North's exhibition opening  HERE - she will be speaking about her process and also her recent commission, for a book that is due to be published in May 2026.

The Cafe will be open 10am - 4pm serving a delicious selection of snacks and drinks.
