The Gallery @ The Plough presents

Luna North

Free Entry

The Plough is delighted to welcome reknowned painter and printmaker Luna North to The Gallery for a vibrant new solo show in April 2026.

Established Exmoor-based artist Luna North will be opening her solo show in the newly refurbished gallery at The Plough on Saturday 4th April 2026, with a Private View 6.30pm - 8.30pm. She will be speaking about the cover illustration she has designed for a new nature book by John Wright, which she was commissioned to create by Profile Books, which is due to be published in May 2026. Not be be missed!

From Luna's earliest days in outer London, she was surrounded by art:

My mum and grandma encouraged me to look closely at the world, and my great aunt, a member of the Royal Academy, inspired me to dream of becoming an artist.

I studied BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting at Falmouth College of Art (1982–1984), creating large-scale landscape paintings influenced by the Romantic traditions of the Cornish art scene. In 1987, I moved to Exmoor with my partner and children, where the moorlands, wildflowers, and ever-changing light became my lifelong inspiration.

In December 2020, I was thrilled to be featured as an Exmoor artist on Channel 4’s Devon and Cornwall TV program.

In 2022, I had the honor of exhibiting with the Royal Society of British Painters at the Mall Galleries in London—a milestone that continues to inspire and motivate my creative journey.

Each moment in nature seems to be an unfolding story to me - I love the way bees explore each tube of red clover flowers with careful hand and tongue - magic moments.

Through my paintings, linocuts, and greeting cards, I hope to bring the peace, beauty, and magic of nature into your life, one piece at a time.” - Luna North.

Luna’s inspiration comes from the native flora & fauna of the wild hills and valleys of Exmoor in North Devon - also her home. She spends happy hours mixing rich colour palette’s sparked from a particular plant or season. The work of Mary Fedden, Tessa Newcomb and Mark Hearld has inspired her practice.

During her show Luna will be offering 2 special workshops:

One Colour Lino Cut on Friday 24th April.

Colour Mixing on Saturday 18th April.

Book very early to take advantage of this rare opportunity - spaces are limited.

All Welcome.
