Black Box Theatre is a new company from Ilfracombe.

It began when I was asked to contribute something for Studio Theatre's Christmas show. I wanted to stage a short play suitable for the season and what could be better than a drama with a ghost. At first I thought to adapt Dickens' famous short story, 'The Signalman '. That didn't work out for me and it has been done before, several times. I searched for something else but nothing seemed to suit the occasion or work in the time I had.

But Dickens and his Signalman gave me the idea for a new ghost story set on a railway. The result is, 'The Ghost Of Thornwood Junction '. We performed this with Studio Theatre and the response from audiences and my cast persuaded me to form a company and see where else we could take our play.

So, here we are at Fringe Extra Barnstaple, with a yarn about a ghost, strong drink and revenge. Hope you enjoy the show.
