'Methinks 'tis time to smile again ...'

Set in the 1950s during the festive season, post-war Illyria, marked by loss, is still finding its way back to joy when a shipwreck brings 'most wonderful' chaos to its shores. In a melancholy world that craves merriment, disguises are donned, deceptions are devised, celebration collides with propriety, restraint with defiance and love is in the air, leading to hilarious and emotional outcomes.

Join Sun & Moon Theatre in the open air for Shakespeare's greatest comedy drama, featuring a tight-knit dynamic ensemble, live music, wit, laughter, mistaken identities, love and of course cakes and ale! Twelfth Night: or What You Will) is a vibrant production that will delight and entertain - join us this season, rain or shine, for some midsummer madness ...

★★★★★ "What an ensemble – this is the hallmark of great performance ... The Company aim to bring Shakespeare to as wide an audience as possible and through their skill and nous they create the most accessible and enjoyable productions" - Reviews Gate

★★★★★ “Sun & Moon Theatre have worked their magic once again. Whether you are a fan of Shakespeare or not, I urge you to see this company in action and discover why they are loved by audiences of all ages” - Entertainingly Different

About Sun & Moon Theatre:

They work with original text, using Quarto and First Folio scripts. They adapt their show to every audience and performance space and their goal is always to entertain and invite their audiences to share in brilliant stories, text and characters that have stood the test of time, always asking 'Why this play now?'. They are delighted to be working with the Plough Open Air Theatre Festival, having previously performed Much Ado About Nothing (2022), Romeo and Juliet (2023), The Winter's Tale (2024) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (2025) - this is their 5th year working with the festival.
