An evening of Parisian-flavoured swing, jazz & vintage charm
Step into the smoky cafés of Montmartre and the golden age of European jazz as Swing from Paris bring their unmistakable Parisian flair to The Plough. This acclaimed all-string quartet — Fenner Curtis (violin), Andy Bowen (guitar), Sam Hughes (guitar) and Tomasz Williams (double bass) — take their inspiration from the style and spirit of the 1930s–50s.
Expect shimmering violin melodies, dazzling guitar work and a warm, driving bass as the group celebrate the music of Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, Artie Shaw and even the fiery tango of Astor Piazzolla. Their trademark tight ensemble playing and virtuosic energy create an atmosphere that’s both nostalgic and electric.
Having performed at major UK and European festivals — including the world-famous Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine — Swing from Paris have also appeared on BBC TV and radio and even played for the French Embassy at Kensington Palace.
A stylish, feel-good night of gypsy jazz, vintage swing and continental charm.Close your eyes and you’re in Paris.
