A fortnightly workshop
Plough Writers
A fortnightly drop-in session. (Please note places are limited).
Tutor Lizzie Bauer will host this fortnightly workshop, perfect for those who wish to develop their creative writing skills.
Lizzie has recently retired from teaching, leaving the role of Head of English in Bristol for her North Devon roots. Having slipped through the cracks of education herself, it was reading that lit the lantern during tough times. This love of reading eventually led to her undertaking a degree in English Literature before re-training as a teacher. Carving differentiated pathways into literature - both for children and adults - has underpinned her teaching practice and produced some transformative results. Lizzie has delivered Creative Writing courses in schools and colleges for the past thirteen-years, collaborated with the Budleigh Writers' Group and taught in Hudson, NY at the 'Perfect Ten' project. Her favourite read is 'Wide Sargasso Sea' by Jean Rhys, she prefers Bronte to Austen and has recently discovered Carl Hiaasen, who, in his latest romp, paints his Trump-supporting Floridian characters with savagery and sass!
