Make your own Mugs & Coasters Pottery Workshop

At ThePlough@StAnne's, Barnstaple

£55.00
£15 for clay materials payable to the tutor on the day.

Tutor:  Helen McCormick

This workshop is designed to be a relaxed, friendly space where you can meet new people and have the opportunity to create, learn and have fun.

The day will be split into two parts.

In the morning, you will learn how to design and make your own beautiful mugs using traditional slab building techniques.  Helen will teach you how to create patterns/decoration in the clay and how to construct the main part of the mug.

In the afternoon you will learn how to make handles and attach these to the main body of your mug.

The last part of the workshop will be decorating your mugs decorating slips.

You will make two mugs by the end of the workshop.

If we have time, we can then make two matching coasters.

All materials and equipment will be provided.

All ages welcome (14 yrs & under must be accompanied by an adult).

The only thing you need to bring is an apron or wear old clothes and a packed lunch.

After the workshop, Helen will carefully take your mugs and coasters home and fire them in her kiln.

These mugs will need to be glazed so that they hold liquid.

Your beautiful creations will be ready for collection 3-4 weeks after the workshop finishes. We will let you know the time and date.

The cost for the workshop is £55

Materials cost is £15 per person on arrival at the workshop
