Christmas Gonk & Decorations Pottery Workshop

This pottery workshop is designed to be a relaxed, friendly space where you can meet new people and have the opportunity to create, learn and have fun. The day will be broken up into two parts. Throughout the morning Helen will teach you how to make a Gonk sculpture using traditional hand building techniques, and how to decorate your Gonk using coloured decorating slips. During the afternoon Helen will teach you how to make your very own bespoke Christmas decorations for your tree.

No experience necessary.

Suitable for ages 13+.

All materials and equipment will be provided.

The only thing you need to bring is an apron and some festive cheer.

After the workshop, Helen will carefully take your Gonk sculpture home and fire it in her kiln. These sculptures will be glazed using a transparent glaze. Your sculpture will be ready to collect approximately 3-6 weeks after the workshop at St Anne’s. Helen will try her best to get them to you before Christmas, but there is no Guarantee as the clay takes a while to dry out in colder weather. We will let you know the date and time to collect.
