The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Joseph Bologne, rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist, composer and fencer. Completed with an ill-fated love affair and falling out with Marie Antoinette herself and her court. This is based on the real story of Joseph Bologne and is a docudrama about the first known black classical composer.
