GOLDRAY are the new psychedelic rock band from Kenwyn House, guitarist with 90s rock giants REEF!
They release their full-length debut album RISING on May 5thvia Akashic Records, co-produced by Clive Martin (the acclaimed knob-twiddler behind Reef’s huge debut Replenish) and Brit Award-winning producer Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness, Therapy?, Enter Shikari).
The band’s debut eponymous mini-album was met with critical acclaim in 2013 from major rock titles, with Classic Rock Magazine drawing parallels with the likes of The Doors, Cream and Pink Floyd, and sister magazine PROG referencing comparisons to Zeppelin and Kate Bush, plus nationwide radio support for singles ’Outloud’ & ‘Soulchild’ including BBC Introducing & Planet Rock.
They have since been garnering a formidable reputation live with performances at Glastonbury, Bestival, Download Festival, The Great Escape, Camden Rocks Festival and various supports including psych legends Motorpsycho.
Kenwyn House teamed up with vocalist Leah Rasmussen (Hydrogen, EMI, Bedrock, Renaissance) in 2010; the two shared a songwriting vision blending psych and prog experimental arrangements resulting in a dynamic that took them towards psychedelic rock: House’s hooks complemented by Rasmussen’s powerful but smooth Kate Bush-esque vocals. Joined by Geoff Laurens (The Resistors) on bass and featuring performances from both Andy Treacey (Faithless) and Paul Winter-Hart (Kula Shaker) on drums, Goldray’s sound has one foot more than firmly planted in the psych rock tradition of the late-sixties and early-seventies.
- “Pitch together the moodiness of The Doors, the grooviness of Cream and the trippiness of early Floyd and you get this splendid prog 'n' psych magical carpet ride" - Classic Rock Magazine
- A blend of Zeppelin and Kate Bush, they make an intriguing sound that mixes flashes of muscular rock with a stylish hybrid of prog and psych" - PROG Magazine
