Healing The Nation

"I was in the middle of a UK Tour when theatres had to close due to lockdown – and the tour was called ‘Healing The Nation’ – so that title worked out well.

It will turn out to be the longest tour ever, taking 3 years to complete, & as the tour has gone on there’s been less and less healing and more and more of the opposite. Admittedly, I could have changed the title but it still seems strangely appropriate - and some of the gigs have been rescheduled so it would prove confusing to existing ticketholders if the ticket said “Healing The Nation” but the show was now called “My Life In Ballet”.

So we have the serially rewritten Healing The Nation tour 2019/2020 now extended into 2021/2022 due to popular demand but also mainly lack of open theatres. And with negative powers of healing.

Yet this latest version of the show is my favourite so far."

Andy has enjoyed huge success as a writer and performer on television, radio and the live comedy stage. As well as a series regular on the award-winning Mock The Week (BBC 2), Andy has had numerous spots on Live At The Apollo (BBC 1), QI (BBC2), The Politics Show (BBC1), Newsnight (BBC2), The World’s Most Dangerous Roads (BBC2), Comedy World Cup (Channel 4), Saturday Live (ITV) and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala At The O2. He was also one of the main writers on the original Spitting Image on ITV. 'His delivery multiplies the humour. Big laughs unloading both barrels at British political and public life' (The Guardian) 'Laugh out loud funny... manages to be utterly likeable and very funny while being Mr Angry at the state of the world' (The Sunday Telegraph). 'Terrific satirical stand-up' (Independent on Sunday) 'What he lacks in hair, Parsons more than makes up for in originality' (The Daily Telegraph) 'Parsons is acerbic, sharp-witted and edgy...taking well-aimed potshots at politicians, celebrities and anyone who dares to talk rubbish' (The Daily Express). Andy Parsons was named in Ents24's top 5 hardest-working comedians of 2017.
