We will explore a variety of book making techniques, making maquettes, and considering possible ways of working with the materials you want your books to be based on. Please bring art work, and/or copies as your starting point for this workshop.

Anna is a leading writer whose credits include scripts for Kneehigh Theatre, RSC &BBC Radio 4. Her poetry and prose arise from unusual bases. This workshop will look at ways of producing original creative writing from personal and particular sources such as letters, diaries and photographs. Workshop members are asked to bring examples of material on which to base new work. Funded by Torrington Players

A 2 day course for beginners on all aspects of technical theatre. Working with David Thynne, Technical Manager at The Plough Arts Centre, you will learn how to rig and operate lights, run sound, and achieve special effects for the theatre. On day two your new skills will be put to good use creating special effects and technical magic for a play in a day course based on Dr Who.

There’s nothing like a home-made gift and this workshop day of intense creativity is a chance for you to make a variety of great Christmas presents for your nearest and dearest. Please bring along lots of photos of yourself/your family/your pets, etc., as several of the projects involve inventive frame making. As the pictures are often integral to the making process it is essential that you bring them on the day. Also, bring a large cardboard box to take your gifts home secretly!
