Daniel Bell - Paintings & Drawings

Daniel Bell - Paintings & Drawings

The theme of Daniel’s exhibition is one of ‘Genesis’, the coming into being of something, the origin of creation. The works are a meditation on this theme. Using say a tree as an example, they try to explore its roots and the trees relationship between the root and the branches. Do appearances conceal more than they reveal of the objects true nature?

Daniel Bell was born in 1978, and has been drawing and painting since the age of 7. He was fascinated by the drawings and works of Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh and later Picasso amongst others. Seeing and drawing are the foundation of his artistic practice. Seeing not just with the eyes but the inner-eye from which to meditate and illuminate the whole of life. Daniel’s early interests developed into him studying Art & Design at North Devon College and a then doing BA in Fine Art at Roehampton University. On completion of his degree he travelled and worked in Southern Spain as an artist for a year and a half, culminating in an exhibition in the Casa Cultura in Estepona 2006.
